CALL FOR PRESENTATION & WORKSHOP PROPOSALS |
The Louisiana Language Access Coalition (LLAC) is seeking presentation and workshop proposals for its biennial conference “Securing Language Access Through Adversity: Building Resilient Communities” scheduled for July 21-22, 2021. This year’s conference will be virtual and 9:30am-2:00pm on both days. We will continue to have three tracks: – Health – Education – Justice Both days will have three 50-minute sessions and one plenary presentation with 10-minute breaks each hour. We are looking for 2 or 3 presenters per session with each presentation ranging from 10-20 minutes. The conference will have a special focus on the roles of advocates, policymakers, service providers, community, advocates, interpreters and translators in advocating for and implementing language access systems, processes and practices rooted in equity and inclusion. While the conference is open to all topics related to language access, we will favor those proposals that explore the following topics: -Lessons learned and best practice from building a resilient community for language access -Tools used/developed to deal with adversity as it pertains to language access -Building community through advocacy for language access The proposal submission deadline is February 26, 2021.
