U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invites you to participate in a stakeholder engagement on Thursday, August 7, 2014, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. (Eastern) to share information on employee rights and other key topics.

During the engagement, USCIS officials will provide an overview of our programs and resources for workers, including:
E-Verify and Form I-9 employee rights and responsibilities,
Deferred action for childhood arrivals,
Unauthorized practice of immigration law, and
Multilingual materials and outreach.
USCIS officials will also be available to answer your questions.

Would anyone in your organization like to attend the DA’s Citizens Academy? It begins on Tuesday September 9, 2014 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM and there are eight sessions ending on Tuesday October 28, 2014. Please read attached information and fill out the registration to enter the class. The attachments can be duplicated and/or shared with others. There is much information to be learned from these classes. The classes are interactive and everyone is encouraged to participate. I encourage many to attend.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Electronic Immigration System (USCIS ELIS) Webinar

Dear Stakeholder,

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invites you to participate in a stakeholder webinar on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (Eastern) to learn more about the usability and functionality of the new USCIS Electronic Immigration System (USCIS ELIS) Form I-526, Immigrant Petition by Alien Entrepreneur, and the document library.

During this webinar, USCIS will demonstrate this functionality and provide tips on using USCIS ELIS features.

The USCIS ELIS Form I-526 allows customers to:
Submit their petition electronically,
Upload evidence, and
Track case status in real-time.
The USCIS ELIS Document Library allows regional centers to provide immigrant investors in new commercial enterprises with electronic copies of their investment-related documents, including:
Organizational,
Transactional, and
Offering documents.
Form I-526 petitioners can:
Access electronic copies of documents pertaining to their investment,
Attest the documents are true and accurate copies, and
Supplement their electronic or paper-based Form I-526 petition with documents stored in the document library.

Nurse Coordinator

Community service organization located in New Orleans is seeking a Nurse Coordinator. This position oversees the operation of health and wellness programs in the participating churches. The successful candidate will be a licensed RN in Louisiana with 5 to 7 years nursing experience 3 of which should be in community health nursing, graduate degree in nursing, public health or some other related field & supervisory experience required. Candidate must be able to conduct valid and quantitative research in the programs field of concentration. Must serve as preceptor and/or guest lecturer on local and national level. Experience working with diverse cultures and populations required. Must have reliable transportation for travel in the community.
