Good Morning:

The Urban League of Louisiana will be hosting their 2019 School Expo at the Mercedes Superdome in New Orleans on Saturday, February 16 from 10 am to 2pm. They are inviting organizations that provide educational, health, social and recreational services to parents and school-age children in Orleans Parish to table at this event.   They are also inviting children, parents and other care givers to attend this event.   Registration is required for vendors as well as attendees.

Effective January 1, 2019 the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has enhanced its Public Safety Policy to include the type of bag you can bring into the Superdome.

Any bag, purse, or briefcase that is larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ WILL NOT be allowed into the Superdome. In addition, all bags must be CLEAR and cannot exceed the 12″ x 12″ x 6″. The clear bag may be hand-carried or have a shoulder strap.

Small clutch bags (4.5″ x 6.5″) will be permitted. The clutch bag does not need to be clear.

LA Voz de la Comunidad Coalition: Training by Beloved Community on addressing Equity at Work

Dear LA Voz de la Comunidad Coalition,

We would like to remind you that this Wednesday, January 30th, during our regularly scheduled monthly coalition meeting, we will host Beloved Community an organization that will provide us with a training session to begin the work of addressing Equity at Work in your individual organizations. This training is great for all types of organizations – non-profit, public and private to further an in-depth understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in a workplace. Our training session will be an overview and we hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity.
Wednesday’s training session is open to anyone interested in participating. If you haven’t already done so, we ask that you share this invitation with others that may benefit from this training.
