Disaster Preparedness Summit on June 19, 2019

Good afternoon,

In preparation for hurricane season, which begins June 1st, the Greater New Orleans Foundation is hosting a Disaster Preparedness Summit at the New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute (NOCHI) at 725 Howard Ave. New Orleans, LA 70130) on Wednesday, June 19th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

In partnership with the Louisiana Association of Nonprofits (LANO), the first half of our summit will be a workshop for nonprofit organizations to create a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). We plan to provide you with portable, practical tools that will help your organization better prepare for disaster.

After lunch, there will be a presentation from the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP). GOHSEP will be here to introduce their new Community Preparedness Branch, offer an overview of their programs, and discuss what assistance exists for nonprofit organizations that engage in disaster response and recovery.
